Eep, it’s been a few days since I last updated you about my whirlwind Europe trip. Things have been pretty busy here at Oxford, but more on that in a future post.
Day two saw Les Halles-Beaubourg, the Louvre, Notre Dame, Jardin du Luxembourg, the Arc de Triomph, and the Eiffel Tower by night. Having hit up most of the main attractions on Paris, Brad and I decided to go a bit out of the city and visit Versailles. It was very crowded, but also pretty cool. I especially liked the very ornate hall of mirrors and some of the painted ceilings:

After Versailles, we decided to go to Montmarte for dinner, where we saw both a windmill (un moulin) and a man stuck in a wall (who, thanks to Josh, I know is M Dutilleul, and that there’s a short story called Le Passe-Mureille, from which a musical called Amour was created):

And that was Paris! Next up, London.

Oh! That’s what “Amour” is about! I never listen to that recording! That sounds interesting, I probably should listen to it.

I’m enjoying your adventures! I was in Paris (June 27-July 5th) just in time for the world cup craziness. But my adventures don’t sound half as fine as your’s do!
Are you loving Oxford? I’ll be in London one(ish) day [the evening of August 14th and the morning of August 15th] on my way to Rome to watch the women’s basketball team play a game or two. Will you be home by then?
Miss you.
