Dublin (or in Gaelic, Baile Átha Cliath, don’t ask me to pronounce it) was awesome. Chris, Matt, and I headed out on Thursday morning, and returned Saturday.
The weather was gorgeous (or at least how I like it) - cool, windy, and a little overcast. That being said, upon my return I was told that I got more tan (who knew I could tan?!).
First thing’s first, we went to check in at the hostel. Our room wasn’t ready yet, so we dropped off our bags, and decided to explore. After passing by River Liffey, we stopped in at Trinity College, Dublin (not to be confused with Trinity College, Oxford, where I’m studying this summer) and also at Dublin Palace, where I got this nifty photo inside a strange booth with the Ireland harp symbol on it:

After walking around a bit more, we saw signs for the Guinness Storehouse. The tour was pretty neat and there was a heated indoor waterfall, but the highlight was getting a free (after paying €9.95 for the tour) pint fresh from the stores on the top floor of the factory, overlooking Dublin. ‘Twas a lovely day for a Guinness.

I’m glad that you liked one of my ancestral homelands! Even though my family isn’t from Dublin, but whatever.

(Irish, not Gaelic. “Gaelic” means Scots Gaelic and Scots Gaelic only.)
Let’s see if copy-pasting IPA works… [’bɔl.jə ‘ɔ.hə ‘kli.ə]. Roughly.
Did you see the Book of Kells in TCD? It was really worth it (and especially so to see the Long Room of the library afterwards). Did you go inside Dublin Castle? (Not worth it except for the archaeology bit.) Can I bombard you with questions about Dublin now?
