Congrats to me — I’m the proud parent of a new blog!
I conceived (sorry, I had to) of this project a few weeks ago, went out on a limb, and finally committed to a domain name. Those who’ve known me for x years (where x < 19) know that I’ve been too scared to just choose a domain and stick with it for approximately… (carry the 1, add the column up…) x-1 years. In any case, some php hacking and three weeks later, my blog was born!
Yes, it’s cheezy, but I want to lay out my hopes/aspirations/whatever for this site. I want to write things that interest people. I don’t plan to make this a journal of my daily activities. If you want to know the minutiae of my life, give me a call or something. My LiveJournal became that, for a long while, which is why I’ve sort of ditched it to a large extent. I’ll still post friended entries there, when necessary, but that’s because it’s a different beast entirely.
I will strive to make this blog *thought-provoking*, and maybe even interesting once in a while. This evening I ran into an archived entry on Danny’s blog, and I sent it to my brother. Why, you ask? Because it brought out feelings and emotions that I wanted to share with him. I want this blog to do that too - to highlight emotions in short anecdotes.
No first-blog-entry would be complete without a list of shoutouts and thanks, as well as a brief list of improvements to expect in the future, so, without further ado…
For the moment, there really won’t be any huge changes you’ll see off the bat. I’ll fix broken things as they come up and whatnot, but you can expect the site to look relatively the same for a little while.
The big thing you’ll see soon is remaindered links. There’s a WordPress plugin out there to do this, but after talking to Danny (who *still* won’t share his secret remaindered power), I think I can hack WordPress enough to make ‘em work for me. ‘Twas supposed to happen tonight, but this entry got a lot longer than the original “F1R5T p05t!!!!!!111~~~” I was going for…
