A joke, some news, and a few pics

Well, it’s not really a joke. And probably only the linguists and mathematicians in the house will get it. But:

There was just an ad on TV for the Jeep Commander. The announcer said “see Commander and the rest of the Jeep line of vehicles” or somesuch. I parsed it as “C-Commander”.

In news-related verbiage, almost all of my grad apps are in and good to go. At the very least, all the to-be-mailed bits are now have-been-mailed bits, leaving only a few internet forms and credit card charges between me and grad school application-dom.

Also, I’m going to Disneyland tomorrow! Huzzah! Oh yes, there will be pictures. I almost wish the trip was to be postponed until the LSA conference had started (it’s in Anaheim this year, and yes, I’ll be attending) so that I could chance upon a famous linguist on a roller coaster That, along with finishing a 4×4 are two of my life goals.
