Emotown update

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

I’m all moved in to my new place for this semester. You may recall that I’m living in Emotown (aka Mod 23). Almost all of us are here, so yay for that.
My mother insists that I upload some photos of my new digs, so ladies and gentlemen, here they are.

Soon to come - […]

→  Why has the Ramsey case knocked the “real” news off the air? - This Salon.com columnist has an interesting take. And it mentions Karl Rove. On a side note, checking my favorite foreign news source (the BBC News website), the Ramsey case barely even gets a tiny link on the far side of the page. Not even a photo! :/: 4 Comments &187;

If it wasn’t for those meddling kids…

Monday, August 14th, 2006

You know the phrase, from Scooby Doo, “I would have gotten away with it to, if it wasn’t for those meddling kids…”?
Well, as I was running that phrase through my head (don’t ask, I do that sometimes with random phrases), I came up with a question.
Please comment here and tell me which of the following […]

Traveling through Heathrow (A.K.A. it only took me about 30 hours to get home)

Monday, August 14th, 2006

The other day, I woke up in my bed in Oxford, and, as per usual, opened up the BBC news website. Nothing interesting was going on - a few updates on the Israel-Lebanon conflict, etc, etc.

I made it home safe from Oxford. I’ll be posting a full update about traveling through Heathrow shortly.

I’m traveling through Heathrow today!

Thursday, August 10th, 2006

If you haven’t heard about the foiled terror plot in the UK or the ensuing airport delays, suffice it to say that basically every airport in England is jam-packed. And I’m flying through one of them today.
For those who want to keep track of where I am, I’ll be taking a bus from Oxford […]

Punting at Cherwell Boathouse

Monday, August 7th, 2006

Last Friday, a bunch of people from Trinity College decided to go punting on the River Cherwell.
Punting is basically like canoeing, but instead of paddles, you use a big long pole to push your punt forward off the bottom of the river. It’s pretty hard work.

The river flows down along the Oxfordshire landscape, down […]

I get SO many geekpoints

Sunday, August 6th, 2006

Patrick Stewart
What did I do last Wednesday, you ask?
Not much… I just saw PATRICK STEWART starring as Prospero in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of The Tempest in Stratford-Upon-Avon, is all.
Seriously, how many geekpoints does that get me? Captain Picard, Shakespeare, and Stratford?
The RSC did an… interesting… interpretation of the play — it was […]
